Blue Jays fans often speculate who should be next on the Level of Excellence.
Jose Bautista is now there, but who's next? Jimmy Key? Tom Henke? Edwin Encarnacion? Jerry Howarth?
All good choices, but the choice is clear. It's time to honor Buck Martinez.

In fact, Rogers should add Buck Martinez to the Level of Excellence this season, now that Buck is returning to broadcasting games following another bout with cancer.
Perhaps September 28 when the Jays host the Rays in the final regular season game before the playoffs.
The Blue Jays Level of Excellence currently has 11 members including, Jose Bautista, Paul Beeston, George Bell, Joe Carter, Tom Cheek, Carlos Delgado, Tony Fernandez, Cito Gaston, Pat Gillick, Roy Halladay and Dave Stieb.
Recently Buck Martinez joined the JD Bunklis Podcast on Sportsnet 590 and expressed his thoughts on someday joining the Blue Jays Level of Excellence.
"I love my job. I love the fans in Canada. They've been awesome to me throughout my career as a player, manager and broadcaster, but that is something I have no control over. It's great to hear people talk that way of me, but I wouldn't have any problem if it never happened either." -Martinez
When you consider his playing career and broadcasting career, as well as his recent health challenges, it's absolutely time to honor the man on the Level of Excellence while he's well enough to attend the ceremony and soak in the love from Jays fans.
