The Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum introduced six new members to their class of 2026 inductees on Thursday.

The Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum unveiled its Class of 2026 on Thursday, announcing six new inductees who have left lasting marks on the game in Canada and beyond.
“We look forward to celebrating the outstanding careers of this year’s inductees in St. Marys this June,” said Scott Crawford, the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum’s Director of Operations. “Each of them, in their own way, has made a tremendous impact on the game of baseball in our country.”
Canadians Stubby Clapp (Windsor, Ont.), Jim Baba (Moose Jaw, SK), Paul Runge (St. Catherines, Ont.), and Kate Psota (Burlington, Ont.) will be part of the class, while big leaguers Devon White and Bill Stoneman will round out the group thanks to their contributions to baseball in Canada.
Men’s national team icon Stubby Clapp and late Baseball Canada executive Jim Baba headline a great Class of 2026 for the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame unveiled this morning.
Clapp has been a fixture in Canadian baseball for decades, particularly on the international stage.
He first suited up for Team Canada as a member of the Junior National Team in 1991 and went on to represent the country at several major tournaments, including the 1999 Pan American Games.
The Windsor native appeared in a handful of MLB games with the St. Louis Cardinals before transitioning into coaching.
His post-playing career has included managing the Triple-A Memphis Redbirds and, since 2019, serving as the Cardinals’ first base coach at the major league level.
The late Jim Baba is being honored for his more than 30 years of dedication to developing baseball across Canada.
We couldn’t be more proud to honour the legacy of Jim Baba, who will be inducted posthumously into the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame in June. He will be joined by Baseball Canada alumni Stubby Clapp and Kate Psota, along with Blue Jays legend Devon White, former Canadian MLB umpire Paul Runge, and former Montreal Expos pitcher and executive Bill Stoneman. ⚾
A former coach, Baba held numerous positions with Baseball Canada and also worked as a technical official at international events sanctioned by the World Baseball Softball Confederation. He passed away in September 2025.
Paul Runge enters the Hall following a distinguished 25-year career as a National League umpire.
After spending over nine seasons in the minor leagues, Runge made his MLB debut in 1973 and went on to officiate 3,194 regular-season games and 22 World Series contests.
Among the many notable moments of his career, Runge was behind the plate when Joe Carter hit his iconic World Series–winning home run in 1993.
He later served as the National League’s director of umpires during the 1998 and 1999 seasons.

Devon White was acquired by the Toronto Blue Jays during the 1990–91 offseason and quickly became a cornerstone of the club’s championship teams.

A central figure in the famed “WAMCO” lineup, White excelled both as a leadoff hitter and as one of the game’s premier defensive outfielders.
Over five seasons with Toronto, White posted a .270/.327/.432 slash line, hit 72 home runs, drove in 274 runs, and recorded a .760 OPS.
He earned five consecutive Gold Glove Awards with the Blue Jays and was named an All-Star once during his tenure.
After retiring as a player, White moved into coaching and player development.
He currently serves as a special assistant to player development with the Blue Jays and previously worked as a hitting coach with the Triple-A Buffalo Bisons and on Toronto’s major league staff.
Bill Stoneman is being inducted for both his playing career and his executive contributions to the Montreal Expos.
He pitched five seasons with the Expos from 1969 to 1973, compiling a 3.98 ERA and a 3.74 FIP over 1,085 1/3 innings, with 831 strikeouts in 186 appearances, including 156 starts.
Stoneman earned an All-Star selection in 1972, a season in which he posted a 2.98 ERA across 250 2/3 innings.
Following his time on the mound, he returned to the Expos organization in the front office, eventually becoming vice-president of baseball operations.
He later joined the California Angels as general manager in 1999 and played a key role in building the team that captured the franchise’s first and only World Series championship in 2002.
The Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame will officially induct the Class of 2026 on Saturday, June 20.
The ceremony will also feature the presentation of the 2025 Jack Graney Award to longtime broadcaster Hazel Mae.
