The Chicago White Sox have signed former Toronto Blue Jays right-handed reliever Anthony Dominguez.
The Chicago White Sox wasted no time spending the $20 million in savings from the Luis Robert trade to sign Seranthony Dominguez.
According to a report from ESPN's Jeff Passan, the White Sox and Seranthony Dominguez are in agreement on a two-year, $20MM contract.
The deal is worth $10 million annually and Passan reports Dominguez is expected to serve as Chicago's closer.

Dominguez goes from Blue Jays set-up guy to White Sox closer
Dominguez, 31, joined the Blue Jays at the trade deadline after being acquired from the Baltimore Orioles in exchange for pitching prospect Juaron Watts-Brown, as Toronto sought to strengthen the back end of its bullpen.
In 2025, he changed up his arsenal. He still featured a four-seamer and sinker in the upper 90s with a sweeper as one of his breaking balls, but he switched out his changeup and slider for a splitter and a curveball.
That led to a career-high walk rate of 13.8% but his 30.3% strikeout rate was his best in a full season since his rookie debut.
Down the stretch, Dominguez made 24 appearances for the Blue Jays, posting a 3.00 ERA. That performance brought his season totals to a 3.16 ERA across 67 games.
He also played a key role in the postseason, appearing in 12 playoff games and pitching in five of Toronto's seven World Series matchups.

Originally from Esperanza in the Dominican Republic, Dominguez spent the first five and a half seasons of his major league career with the Philadelphia Phillies before being traded to Baltimore midway through the 2024 season.
Over 322 career regular-season appearances, he has compiled a 3.50 ERA.
