The 2025 season is not yet over, but that hasn't stopped the rumours from starting.

The Toronto Blue Jays will have many questions about their rotation heading into next season. Chris Bassitt, Shane Bieber, and Max Scherzer are all impending free agents, and there is plenty of uncertainty surrounding younger pitchers like Ricky Tiedemann and Jake Bloss.
It could be the team looks externally to bolster their rotation.
Enter Sonny Gray.
Back-to-back 200 strikeout seasons for Sonny Gray
The 36 year pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals is a prime candidate to be dealt the offseason and has indicated that he would waive his no trade clause.
I think I do, just to be frank and to be honest. I definitely think I do

In an article on Sports Illustrated, it has been postulated that the Blue Jays would be a great fit for Gray's services. Gray's veteran presence would be a welcome sight in Toronto's rotation that faces uncertainty beyond Kevin Gausman and Jose Berrios.

Blue Jays have a surplus of infielders and outfielders; pieces to deal

Beyond the obvious fit, the Blue Jays have pieces they can deal as well. There are eight players on the active roster who can play the outfield. Even with Addison Barger seeing more time at third and George Springer and Anthony Santander splitting DH duties, that likely isn't sustainable heading into next year.
Toronto has some players - both in the minors and majors - that are out of options heading into next year. Leo Jimenez is a player that fits this category.
A three-time All-Star, Gray has the track record to back up his success.
Perhaps the Blue Jays should think about adding him into the fold.
