Former Toronto Blue Jays manager and current New York Mets bench coach John Gibbons joined TSN Overdrive to discuss Toronto's current first half run, John Schneider's ejection in Sacramento, and his experience in Toronto during the 2015 and 2016 playoff runs.

If anyone knows about fighting with umpires and ejections it's former Blue Jays manager John Gibbons.
Gibby is the world heavyweight champion of ejections in Toronto. His 52 ejections is a Blue Jays record that will never be surpassed.
Cito Gaston is a distant second with 27 ejections and he managed more games.
MLB.com's Keegan Matheson asked Gibby if he saw John Schneider's ejection in Sacramento and what his thoughts were on what goes into a good ejection.
"Everybody thought I did it to get the team and fans fired up but really I'd just do it because I was angry with a call or got tired of watching lousy baseball. One thing I do know is you've got to fight for your guys if you expect them to fight for you."

When asked if he saw Davis Schneider's homerun called back and what he thought about the call and manager John Schneiders reaction to it, he had this to say:
"Ya those minor league ballparks have short foul poles and limited camera angles so its difficult to judge sometimes. Ya it got pretty heated out there it was like big Johnny was like WWE out there man, bumpin each other a little bit so on and so forth, but you need to do that as a Manager sometimes you know. John's got some fire in that belly he's got that big belly like I got, whatever he's doing up there is working he's got his team fired up."
When asked about what it was like when he first arrived in Toronto compared to when the Blue Jays started to turn things around he said "it was like going from villain to hero."
