During the Blue Jays recent three game series against the Atlanta Braves in Toronto, Joe Siddall - normally co-host of Blue Jays Central pre-game show - moved from the desk into the booth to cover for Buck Martinez, which he does periodically. That begged the question, who covers for Siddall? Enter Madison Shipman.

The former softball standout and newest addition to the Blue Jays analyst team has become a popular and knowledgeable presence since her debut broadcast in April 2023.
A softball star, Shipman attended the University of Tennessee and as a shortstop, led the Tennessee Volunteers to the 2013 Women's College World Series, where they ultimately finished in second place, the Oklahoma Sooners.
The following year, she was drafted 2nd overall in the National Prop Fastpitch draft and ended up winning both Rookie of the Year honours and a National Championship with USSSA Pride.
Since her retirement, he has worked for both ESPN and Blue Jays Central, her debut broadcast with the latter also being her first time in Canada.
Whether it's Joe Siddall, Caleb Joseph, Ricky Romero, or now Shipman, Sportsnet has done a great job at finding high-quality, knowledgeable analysts to compliment Dan Schulman, Buck, Jamie Campbell, Hazel Mae, and their entire team of broadcasters.
As she has other commitments, most notably with ESPN, Shipman won't be a regular, everyday presence with the Blue Jays Central team. However, her unique experience and viewpoint is always a welcome treat whenever she makes an appearance.
Here's to you Madison!
