The Toronto Blue Jays defeated the Houston Astros 8-3 in Grapefruit League action on Monday afternoon. With the win, the Blue Jays now improve to 10-6-1 on the spring.

Kevin Gausman made his second start of the spring. Although he struck out four, a three run homer and a high pitch count mean that he was done after 2.1 innings.
The bullpen kept the Astros at bay for the rest of the game including 1.2 innings shutout innings from Richard Lovelady and a three inning save from Jake Bloss, who struck out five and walked just one in his best performance of the spring so far.
Chad Green pitched a spotless fifth and Nick Sandlin picked up the win after a scoreless sixth.
On the offensive side of things, Bo Bichette got the Blue Jays on the board with a solo home run in the bottom of the third inning. In the sixth, a walk, three straight doubles and a sacrifice fly led to four runs for the Blue Jays, and put them ahead 5-3.
A sacrifice fly from catcher Christian Bethancourt added another run in the seventh and then a two-run shot from Addison Barger in the 8th put the Blue Jays up by five.
Bloss walked Victor Carantini to open the ninth and then pinch runner Lucas Spence promptly stole second on a delayed steal to give the Astros a runner in scoring position with one out. However, Bloss struck out the final two batters to preserve the win for Toronto.
The Blue Jays continue their Spring Training slate with a home game against the Minnesota Twins on Tuesday. First pitch is scheduled for 1:05pm ET.
