George Springer injury update

The Toronto Blue Jays got good news on the George Springer front. The right fielder left yesterday's game against the New York Mets in the eighth inning, after crashing into the wall trying to track down a fly ball from Jesse Winker that ultimately landed for a two-run triple.
After lying on the ground for several minutes, he walked off the field in obvious pain, accompanied by manager John Schneider and head trainer Jose Ministral.
Schneider offered an update the game saying the Springer was suffering from back spams and that no MRI was needed, at least not at the moment.
It's the best news the Blue Jays could have to hoped to receive in that situation, as Springer is off to a hot start, going 11-29 with a home run, a triple, and two doubles.
«We'll see how he is tomorrow, but it seems like it is all muscular right now,» - Manager John Schneider
No doubt the frigid New York temperature played a role in his muscles tightening.
While it doesn't appear that Springer will need a stint on the IL, the Blue Jays have options should he need a day or two off. Nathan Lukes, Alan Roden, and Anthony Santander can all play right field. Davis Schneider could also benefit with an extra game or two in left.
«It was weird, between the padding and the fence there. He hit it weird,» I'm glad he got up and threw it, to be honest with you, but I think he hit the wall weird and the conditions definitely didn't help.» - John Schneider
Here's hoping that a day or two of rest will be all that Springer needs.
