The
Toronto Blue Jays outfielder and designated hitter continued to turn back the clock, leading off the game against the Kansas City Royals with a home run; it was his 30th blast of the season.
It's the third time in his career that he has reached the 30 HR plateau and the first in a Blue Jays uniform.
No. 30 for the birthday boy, George Springer
Now hitting .304. for the season, Springer is enjoying a renaissance - one of the finest seasons of his career - after struggling to find consistency over the last couple of seasons.
Springer's recovery is a big reason why the Blue Jays are leading the American League East and on the cusp of clinching a playoff spot and their first division title in a decade.
3rd best OPS in the AL (.935) and just turned 36 years old.
Happy birthday George!

Now healthy, Springer settling into new role with team
Springer's success this season is largely due to two factors. One, he's the healthiest he's been in three seasons. Although he missed a bit of time after being hit in the head with a pitch, he hasn't had any lingering effects.
He is also embracing a new role, getting more at bats as a DH than as an outfielder, though this is mainly due to an injury to
Anthony Santander.Whatever the reason for sustained success, the Blue Jays will 100% take it.
