Chris Bassitt is on the bump tonight versus the Guards. Bassitt (2-2) came away with the loss in his last outing of Game 2 of a doubleheader against the Yankees, allowing four runs on six hits and one walk while striking out five over 5.2 innings.
Bassitt gave up a leadoff homer to Trent Grisham to open the outing, but the former settled in keep the Yankees off the board over the next four frames.
However, things fell apart in the sixth for Bassitt, as he was tagged for three more runs, including a solo home run by Aaron Judge.
Bassitt allowed just two earned runs over his first four starts of the season, but he has given up eight runs over his last two outings and is up to a 2.62 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 39:7 K:BB across 34.1 innings.
Logan Allen (1-2) took the loss in his last outing against the Red Sox, allowing seven runs on nine hits and three walks with two strikeouts over 4.1 innings.
Allen had allowed only five earned runs across his first four starts of the year but couldn't escape a four-run fifth inning.
The southpaw struggled to put hitters away, throwing just 57 of 96 pitches for strikes with 10 whiffs. He'll take a 4.21 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and 18:13 K:BB across 25.2 innings into a road matchup with the Blue Jays tonight.
