There was a scary moment during the Cubs-Priates game at PNC Park on Wednesday. A fan fell from the Clemente wall in right field down onto the outfield, 21 feet below.

The game was delayed by roughly 10 minutes as personnel and medical staff from both teams attended to the injury. He was carted off the field and hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.
It happened during an Andrew McCutcheon double in the seventh inning.
Both managers put-out statements, as did Pirates chairman Bob Nutting and the team themselves. McCutcheon also posted on X following the game.
Pittsburgh Public Safety also sent out a notice saying that the fan remains in critical condition and that the police are treating it as accidental.
I want to offer thoughts and prayers with the incident that happened earlier in the game and thank both our medical staff, the Cubs' medical staff, EMS, everybody that got to the gentleman, and just ask everybody to keep him in your prayers,» - Pirates Manager Derek Shelton
The right-field wall at PNC Park is 21 feet tall in honor of Roberto Clemente, who wore No. 21. According to the PNC Park architect of record, the railings above the Clemente Wall measure 36 inches, exceeding the current code requirements of 26 inches.
Cubs infielder Dansby Swanson, who was at the centre of the play, also offered his thoughts after the game.
Obviously we are just praying for him, good strong recovery, just to be with him and his family. «Never been a part of something like that and obviously hope to never be a part of something like that again.»
