What's a dream season if you can't create a little history along the way?

That was the story in Game 6 of the American League Division Series as the Toronto Blue Jays defeated the Seattle Mariners.
And it was two key players at the forefront.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has continued his demonic postseason by hitting his sixth home run. This now ties him with legends Jose Bautista and Joe Carter for the most postseason home runs in Blue Jays history.
He has only struck out once. As stats reporter Sarah Langs points, that puts him in extremely unique company. Hall of Fame company.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr.'s 6 home runs are the most by a player with 2 strikeouts or fewer in his team's first 10 games of a postseason

Only other players with 6+ HR & 2 or fewer strikeouts in any 10-game postseason span:

1978-80 George Brett
1928-36 Lou Gehrig (3 overlap spans)
Then there was Trey Yesavage.
The 22 year-old continued his masterful rookie season with 7 strike outs in 5.2 innings. It was what he was able to do during the game that it made his start even more unique.
Throughout hit first five major league starts, Yesavage had yet to induce a double play. On Sunday night, he got three of them. What's more, all three were inning-ending and two of them happened with the bases loaded. How rare is that?

Both Guerrero and Yesavage are in extremely rare company

According to Langs, only two other pitchers have induced inning-ending double plays in three consecutive innings: Chris Carpenter and Tom Glavine. Not bad company to be in.
Pitchers to induce inning-ending GIDPs in 3 straight innings in a postseason game:

2025 ALCS G6 Trey Yesavage
2005 NLDS G1 Chris Carpenter
1995 NLCS G1 Tom Glavine
In a postseason where so much has already happened, the stage is ready for even more history to be set.
