On Thursday morning Arash Madani posted his emotional goodbye and his thanks to those he has worked with over the years in the form of a post on Twitter (X).
À bientôt mes amis.

After 16years my time at Sportsnet has come to an end.

And honestly what a thrilling ride: Superbowls, NBA Finals, Stanley Cups, Grey Cups, all those Olympic Games, pitch-side when Canada finally qualified for a World Cup, The Masters, That incredible FIBA World Cup where Shai & Coqualified for Paris. You name it the network sent me to handle them all.

It's never been lost on me that a first generation Canadian who grew up in Truro Nova Scotia was able to live out his dream. Covering all these on National television. To do court-side at Canada's Masters 1000, to work with Bob Cole on HNIC, to be Bob McCowen's co-pilot in the heyday of drivetime radio, to deliver the play-by-play call of Canada winning the Billie Jean King Cup, and to be on the same Jays broadcast crew of Schulman and Buck? Truly amazing.

I was even named our country's top sports broadcaster a few years back. Mom and Dad really like that one.

We all understand that we sign up for a volatile industry where change is the constant, and I had been able to avoid until now. While disappointed, appreciate the run and all thats come with it. Most fortunate to have done it with incredible teammates and worked with so many colleagues behind the scenes who are determined to make contact at a high level

Maybe what meant most over the years were the number of Maritimers and those of Middle eastern descent who would stop to tell me they appreciated how I represented them when they'd see me on the air. The biggest lessons I've learned here: You never know the impact you can have on those around you.

Looking forward to what's next and beeing on the screen down the road. Until then Merci Beaucoup, for everything, It's been a real privelege mes amis. - Arash Madani

Sportsnet broadcaster Jamie Campbell had this to say about his former colleague on social media yesterday.
"Unparalleled in his craft and a top-notch human to boot. We'll miss you friend."
Hockey Night in Canada's Elliotte Friedman and many others chimed in as well.
Very sorry to hear, Arash. Love your work and your passion. You will be great wherever you go."
"Wishing you the best Arash. You're a great teammate. The nicest Vikings fan I know. I look forward to whatever comes next for you." - Dan Shulman
"Arash taught me one of the most important things in this job, which is that we can all win. Story time: My 1st year on the #BlueJays beat, I needed Marco Estrada for a story. Arash did, too, and I accidentally cut right in front of him in the clubhouse to speak to Estrada. I was young and thought I'd fucked up, so I apologized to Arash later for stepping on his toes.He said: "Dude, nothing I'm doing is ever more important than what you're doing." We can all win, and no one needs to lose to make that happen. Here's to the fella from Truro." - MLB.com's and fellow Maritimer Keegan Matheson
One of the best pieces of advice came from Arash my first week at Sportsnet. «Keep your eyes and ears open and your mouth shut.» Unmatched versatility. One of the best, that Madani. - Kyle Bukauskas
There was so much outpouring of thanks and goodwill to Madani that I cannot fit them into this article. We here at Blue Jays Central wish him nothing but the best of luck in his future endeavors, we know he will succeed no matter what comes his way in the future.
