Jeff Hoffman might just be responsible for the Blue Jays' change of fortune

During Hall of Fame weekend, the Blue Jays wore custom-made hats, a retro-style cap with special stitching. Hoffman liked the look of them and inquired if there were any lying around. Miller replied in the affirmative, and the rest is history.
If you love the white panel caps, you can thank Jeff Hoffman.
The Jays wore them during Hall of Fame weekend (but w/the old logo).
He asked if MLB would OK wearing the caps with the new logo on them.
He was told the caps already existed but haven't been worn in a few years
Thursday marked the first time the team donned old-school headwear, and they did so again on Saturday and Sunday. They didn't lose in the last four games of the season. (There was no donning of the caps on Friday as that was city connect night).
While there is no direct evidence and correlation does not equal causation, baseball players are a superstitious bunch. The Blue Jays are winning, so the hats will stay.
Expect to see the white panel hats in the postseason
Given how the success the Blue Jays have had while wearing the hats, it's a pretty good bet that they will make an appearance during game one of the ALDS.
It's feels appropriate too.
In a season where so much has gone right for Toronto, one in which is being compared to the glory days of the early 90s, the retro feel and look at the caps, will only serve to increase fans' nostalgia, connecting them and fuelling the team to go further than they have in three decades.
While the playoffs are a different animal than the postseason, fans can rest assured that the Blue Jays will put all the stops.
That includes wearing a special hat.
