Trey Yesavage’s return to the Toronto Blue Jays is one more step closer, with one more stop down in Triple-A Buffalo.

Toronto Blue Jays manager John Schneider confirmed Trey Yesavage will pitch for the Buffalo Bisons as he continues working back from a shoulder impingement.
According to Schneider, the plan is for Yesavage to throw approximately four innings, or around 65 pitches, in what will be his third rehab appearance. If all goes well, he could rejoin Toronto shortly afterward.
Trey Yesavage will pitch for the Triple-A Buffalo Bisons tomorrow. He’ll aim for something in the range of 4 innings, 65 pitches. If all goes well, he could return to the #BlueJays after that.
The 22-year-old has already made two rehab outings this season with the Dunedin Blue Jays in the Florida Complex League.
Across those appearances, he has faced 23 batters and recorded an 8.44 ERA, allowing five earned runs on five hits over 5.1 innings. He has also tallied nine strikeouts and issued two walks.
Yesavage’s rapid rise began during his first professional season in 2025, when he advanced through all four levels of the Blue Jays’ minor-league system before making his major-league debut on September 15.
In that debut, he set a franchise record with nine strikeouts.
He quickly became an important piece in Toronto’s postseason run, finishing with a 3.58 ERA over six appearances, including five starts, while striking out 39 batters across 27.2 innings and walking 11.
His standout performances included an 11-strikeout, no-hit outing over 5.1 innings against the New York Yankees in the ALDS, as well as a record-setting 12-strikeout performance against the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 5 of the World Series.
Meanwhile, the Blue Jays (6–9) begin a three-game road series against the Milwaukee Brewers on Tuesday night.
