Longtime Toronto Blue Jays executive has passed away

Jon Dandes, longtime member of the Toronto Blue Jays organization, has passed away. He was 72.
Dandes was a longtime president of the Buffalo Bisons and is a member of the Buffalo Hall of Fame.
The Bisons family is deeply saddened by the passing of longtime President/Buffalo Baseball Hall of Famer, Jon Dandes.

Blue Jays, Bisons, share extremely close relationship
A member of the Bisons family for more than four decades, Dandes was a key part of the development of the Bisons, as well as the success of the club at Sahlen Field.
He served as Vice President and General Manager from 1988-1995, after which he was promoted to Executive VP and the Rich Baseball Corporation, who own the Bisons.
He then served as the group's president for nearly 20 years, overseeing not only the Bisons, but also the company's AA and A properties.
Bisons owners, Bob & Mindy Rich, have a released a statement commemorating Dandes.
"Jon was one of a kind and a force to be reckoned with. The boy from Queens chose Buffalo as his home and his tenacious leadership and tireless civic engagement have forever shaped this city. Jon stood at the ready for any new project thrown his way. Across industries, playing fields, and hobbies he'd gamely accept a challenge and immerse himself in the unfamiliar tasks at hand. He'd then emerge with fresh insights, a wider circle of friends and a new set of skill. His adoration of his children, grandchildren, and especially his wife Marcy, was simply a sight to behold. We've lost a dear friend today.»
The Bisons, who have been the Blue Jays' top minor league affiliate since 2013, share an extremely close relationship with their parent club, a fact that irked some New Yorkers during the post season.
A Funeral service for Dandes will be held on February 24th. Blue Jays Central send their condolences to his family and friends and the wider Buffalo Community.
