With the exception of opening day, the All-Star game, and the World Series, very few people pay attention to whomever is singing the national anthem.

On Friday night, that changed.
The Blue Jays Spring Training contest against the Houston Astros featured the vocal stylings of one Robert Guertin. But who exactly is Robert Guertin?
The whole thing started when Guertin's wife Linda was speaking with a Blue Jayssales representative over the phone. She was among a group of 15 Canadians that had recently purchased tickets for a Blue Jays game.
Then the sales rep asked her a question that she never been asked before. "Can you sing the Canadian national anthem at our game?". Linda was bewildered and took a breath before answering with a simple no.
However, she quickly offered up her husband in her place.
Her husband Robert did just that. On Friday evening, just prior to the first pitch, the 67 year old from Mississauga strode onto the field at CATCI Park, dressed up in his Blue Jays Jersey, and belted out some True Patriot Love.
It was the first time he had ever sang in public before.
I was so nervous I almost forgot the words. - Robert Guertin

It turns out he didn't. He will also never forget this experience. Perhaps the Blue Jayswill do him one better and let him sing the national anthem during the regular season.
Come on Blue Jays PR team. Make it happen.
