Starting pitchers overview
In his last outing Bassitt (11-8) took the loss against the Yankees, allowing two unearned runs on three hits and three walks while striking out three batters over five innings.
A second-inning error helped the Yankees score the only two runs they managed against Bassitt.
Though the righty hurler didn't allow any extra-base hits, that pair of unearned runs was enough to saddle him with the loss.
Bassitt is now winless across his past eight starts, though he's allowed more than three runs only once during that span.
Trevor Rogers gets the ball for the O's tonight. In his last outing Rogers did not factor into the decision in a 4-3 win over the Dodgers, allowing two runs on eight hits and one walk with six strikeouts over 5.1 innings.
Rogers gave up runs in the third and fifth innings but was otherwise sharp, racking up 16 whiffs while landing 71 of 96 pitches for strikes.
While the outing snapped the southpaw's run of 10 straight quality starts, he's still allowed three earned runs or fewer in all 15 of his outings this season.
