Toronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Max Scherzer is quickly ramping things up in Dunedin Florida, his return and others may be sooner than people think.
Sportsnet's Arden Zwelling got the latest on Scherzer's rehab assignment along with updates on Daulton Varsho, Nick Sandlin, Yimi Garcia and Ryan Burr.
Max Scherzer is scheduled to throw 50-55 pitches over three innings in Florida on Sunday. Blue Jays still determining whether it'll be a simulated outing or in an FCL / low-A game. Blue Jays want it to be as game-like as possible. Scherzer could move quickly if things go well.

Once he gets to that pitch count, then he can consider rehab assignment.
Daulton Varsho (hamstring) began baseball activity at Blue Jays complex in Dunedin, Fla. on Friday. Varsho is hitting in the batting cages and playing catch. He hasn't resumed running yet.

Nick Sandlin (lat) pitched for the Blue Jays FCL team Friday, throwing 23 pitches over 1.1 IP. His next rehab outing could be with Dunedin or Buffalo Yimi Garcia (shoulder) & Ryan Burr (shoulder) have both resumed playing catch in Florida after recently receiving cortisone shots.
Reliever Nick Sandlin "felt good" in a 1.1-inning, 3K, 2R/1ER rehab outing in the FCL, said Blue Jays manager John Schneider. Will move to upper levels for next outing.
With all that being said this looks like good news for the Blue Jays on the rehab front hopefully we will see these guys back in action shortly.
