Brazilian pitching prospect Joseph Contreras is catching the eye of a certain Canadian team.
The Toronto Blue Jays, who have done well in recruiting second generation Major League talent - as we saw last week with Jake Casey - now reportedly have their eye on the 17 year old pitcher for Team Brazil.
They would be right to as well. During Brazil's match against Team USA, Contreras, after walking consecutive batters, got Aaron Judge to ground into a double play.
Expect everything.

Contreras has offer from prestigious American college known for developing pitchers
Joseph Contreras is the son of former big league pitcher Jose Contreras, who had an eleven year career, including with Judge's New York Yankees, and was an All-Star in 2006 while a member of the Chicago White Sox.
Although Contreras' father was born in Cuba, his mother Isabel is of Brazilian descent and thus Jorge was able to represent Team Brazil. He is the youngest pitcher in the tournament
According to longtime baseball writer Bob Elliot, Blue Jays scouts have been evaluating Contreras, who is currently a high school senior in Georgia.
Blue Jays scouts have been evaluating Georgia HSer RHP Joseph Contreras, son of former big leaguer José Contreras (78-67., 4.57 ERA in 11-year career). Joseph will pitch for Brasil as youngest player in WBC
The Blue Jays aren't the only one interested in Contreras' services.
The young righty has an offer from Vanderbilt to pitch for them next season, but an enticing offer from a major league team could impact that decision.
