While four of the six NL teams have secured a spot in the playoffs, the American League remains wide open

In fact, heading into Monday, the Toronto Blue Jays are the only AL team to have officially scored a spot in the postseason. Judging by how close some of the races are, it could stay that way for a couple days.
Over in the NL, the Brewers and Phillies have won their divisions, while the Dodgers have at least clinched a spot in the playoffs, and the Cubs have secured at a wild card spot.
The AL is a different story.
The Blue Jays are a good position to hold onto the #1 spot as they hold the tiebreaker over their division rivals the Yankees and Red Sox as well as over the Tigers and Mariners.
Speaking of the Tigers, their 1-9 skid has now dropped them into the third seed, forcing them to play in the Wild Card against the Cleveland Guardians.

Final week of season could see several different scenarios play out

Speaking of the Guardians, they could pull off the unthinkable. At one point, Cleveland was 15.5 games out of first place in the AL Central. Now, they sit just one game back of Detroit and have pushed the Houston Astros out of a playoff position, as they currently hold the tiebreaker. All eyes will be on their three game series against the Tigers.
Houston had been neck-and-neck with the Mariners for weeks, but after a weekend sweep are now three games out of first. They have an identical record to Cleveland, but currently sit in seventh position due to the Guardians having won the season series.
The National League could have some excitement too. The Reds have played extremely well as of late and have pushed the scuffling Mets out of a playoff spot - for now. Arizona has also come on strong and finds themselves only one game back of both Cincinnati and New York. Meanwhile, the Padres sit three games behind the Dodgers and could conceivably take the NL West crown.
Whatever happens, strap in, it's going to get wild.
