Toronto Blue Jays manager John Schneider announced Shane Bieber will start game 3 and 'possibly' Max Scherzer for game 4 of the ALCS against the Seattle Mariners.

Shane Bieber was the Blue Jays' big acquisition before the 2025 trade deadline, trading Khal Stephen to the Cleveland Guardians for the 2020 American League Cy Young winner.
That being said, Bieber didn't have a great start in Game 3 of the ALDS, throwing just two and two-thirds innings while giving up three runs and two earned, in what was a 9-6 loss.
Hopefully, he has a better outing against the Mariners on Wednesday at T-Mobile park in Seattle.

Max Scherzer in game shape according to Blue Jays manager John Schneider

John Schneider says that Max Scherzer feels better physically now than he did a month ago. Feels like Plan A would be for Scherzer to start Game 4 in Seattle, but they'll keep their options open in case things get wacky.
Scherzer missed the end of the regular season and the Divisional Round Series against the Yankees with an injury, which has healed according to the Blue Jays.
An eight-time All-Star, Scherzer was 5-5 with a 5.19 ERA in 17 starts after agreeing to a $15.5 million, one-year contract.
Scherzer, a three-time Cy Young Award winner, has logged more postseason innings and owns more World Series rings than any other player on the team.

Scherzer didn't pitch between March 29 and June 25 because of right thumb inflammation. He was 1-3 with a 9.00 ERA in his final six starts.
