The Toronto Blue Jays and their fans can breath a sigh of relief with the latest Bo Bichette injury update.

Bichette could return in time for the postseason after a second opinion confirmed that the PCL sprain in his left knee will not require surgery, Jon Morosi of MLB Network reports.
Source: 2nd opinion on Bo Bichette's left knee sprain has confirmed that the injury is (a) short-term and (b) expected to improve with rest and rehabilitation.

It's still possible that Bichette returns in time for the postseason; he last played on Sept. 6.
Bichette last played Sept. 6, if any, regular-season games he'll be able to participate in down the stretch.

It definitely seems there is optimism the shortstop can return in time for the playoffs.
The Blue Jays won't play their first postseason game until Oct. 4 if they hang on to win the American League East and finish with one of the top two records in the AL.
Toronto enters Tuesday's action five games up on the New York Yankees for the division lead and six games ahead of the AL West-leading Seattle Mariners - the No. 3 seed in the league.
The Blue Jays have been using Andres Gimenez and Ernie Clement at shortstop of late in Bichette's stead.
Bichette has been one of Toronto's best players this season. The 27-year-old has the most hits (181) and doubles (44) in the majors and leads the Blue Jays in RBIs (94) and batting average (.311).
The seven-year veteran will be a free agent at the end of the season.
