Blue Jays listed as biggest threat to Dodgers chances of a three-peat in 2026
"I think the Blue Jays are the biggest threat with what they've done in the offseason, bringing in Okamoto is great, they matched up incredible to the Dodgers in the World Series. The really won that series, obviously couldn't pull it off in Game 7, but statistically they were better than the Dodgers. I think that this season picking up Dylan Cease, bringing in Okamoto, Cody Ponce from Korea, Tyler Rogers is a nice bullpen piece, and Santander we will see how he is".
MLB Network co-host Robert Flores also emphasized that the Blue Jays pushed the Dodgers to seven games in the World Series despite receiving limited production from Santander, who was Toronto’s biggest offseason acquisition prior to the 2025 season.
Flores noted that a fully healthy Santander over the course of a full season could elevate the Blue Jays into a clear frontrunner to return to the World Series in 2026
Casey, a former three-time All-Star with the Cincinnati Reds, also has a personal connection to the Blue Jays organization.
His 22-year-old son, Jake Casey, an outfielder, was selected by Toronto in the 15th round (442nd overall) of the 2025 MLB Draft.
