Toronto Blue Jays centerfielder Daulton Varsho belted a home run for a third consecutive rehab game while playing for the triple-A Buffalo Bisons on Friday.
Varsho's two-run homer to right-centre in the second inning gave the Bisons a 4-0 lead over the host Columbus Clippers.
Centerfielder Daulton Varsho is expected to return to the Blue Jays for the series in Baltimore
Varsho has homered in his last three rehab games. Could return to Blue Jays in Baltimore next week.
It was Varsho's first rehab game of this stint at the highest level of minor-league baseball. His previous two homers came for single-A Dunedin.
DAULTON VARSHO HAS LEFT THE YARD... AGAIN💣
His debut did not come until April 29, and his time on the field was short lived.
Varsho appeared in 24 contests, making 100 plate appearances before suffering another injury.
Varsho is slashing .207/.240/.543 with eight homers and 20 RBIs in 24 games for Toronto this season. A Gold Glove winner last year, Varsho was leading the Blue Jays in home runs this season when he went on the injured list.
His absence has been felt given the power and run production he provides along with stellar defense, winning a Gold Glove Award in 2024.
Getting him back in the lineup will be similar to making a trade deadline acquisition, which is why the front office might opt to not pursue additional outfielders.
