Toronto Blue Jays fans have been a disappointment since Mark Shapiro came on board almost ten years ago and it looks like he may finally lose his job. Shapiro's contract is apparently up with the Blue Jays, it is expected to expire at the end of this season.

Fans have been calling for ownership to fire Shapiro and Ross Atkins for a long time as they have been at the helm for almost a decade with absolutely no on field success to show for it.

Blue Jays might actually look into firing CEO Mark Shapiro

The Toronto Maple Leafs finally decided a change was needed earlier this week as they fired long time president Brendan Shanahan after 11 seasons and 32 playoff wins since he simply could not get the job done.
Brendan Shanahan, whose Maple Leafs won 32 playoff games in 11 seasons, was essentially fired the other day as president of the hockey club. -Simmons

Edward Rogers is one of the people who signed off on the firing of Shanahan which means he is finally looking at cleaning house which seems to be something he has been against in the past.
Edward Rogers, soon to be major domo of all professional sports across Toronto, had to sign off on the expiry of Shanahan's contract and the determination not to offer him a new deal. -Simmons

Shapiro contract with the Blue Jays is up at the end of the season and it would make absolutely zero sense for them to keep it as CEO with all of zero he has accomplished especially if they do not end up making the playoffs for a second year in a row.
Shapiro's contract is apparently up with the Blue Jays right now. It is expected to expire at the end of this season. How he maintains his position in the wake of the Shanahan dismissal is curious at best. -Simmons

The chances of Shapiro and Atkins holding on to their jobs this season lays in the balance of whether or not the Blue Jays make a playoff run this season. They can't just make the post season like seasons past, they'll actually have to go deep into the playoffs to justify a contract extension beyond 2025.
