The Toronto Blue Jays and the Los Angeles Dodgers played in one of the best World Series of all time in 2025.
While the Toronto Blue Jays came out on the losing end in a very tightly played Game 7 at home, they gave their fans a thrill they hadn't experienced in 32 years and it created a bond for a generation of fans and their players.
One player who has stepped up is Louis Varland.
The 28-year-old has arguably been one of the Blue Jays' best player thus far.
However, his strong start didn't prevent him from being duped earlier this week.
A video recently surfaced of Varland signing autographs to fans in Toronto.
However, things took a turn for the worse when he realized one of the fans wasn't backing the Blue Jays.
Not only that, but the fan in question was repping the Los Angeles Dodgers
After signing the fan's glove, Varland realized his mistake.
Varland not impressed with Dodgers fan ruse
The St. Paul, Minnesota native looked up from signing someone's glove, only to realize they were wearing a Dodgers shirt which really ticked Varland off .
"Nice shirt," Varland said sarcastically before giving the fan a thumbs down.
He then expressed disbelief with the fan's decision to ask for an autograph, while showing regret for his decision.
"You had me sign your glove, wearing that shirt?"
"I'm gonna scribble it out," he said. "I'm serious. Let me scribble it out."
While Varland wasn't happy with the stuation, he acknowledged he should have been paying more attention.
"That's tough. I should have looked. That's on me."
And now Varland's interaction with the Dodgers fan has gone viral.
Blue Jays pitcher Louis Varland was disgusted with himself after realizing he signed a glove for a Dodgers fan 😂
You can guarantee Varland be more leery about signing autographs in his off time from now on.
Varland sports a 0.64 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 21:4 K:BB through 14 innings so far this year with the Blue Jays.
