Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Davis Schneider was inducted into the Hall of Fame of Southern New Jersey in Bridgeton.

Kids dream about hitting a home run in the World Series. Davis Schneider got to live it.
Schneider led off Game 5 of the Fall Classic and launched a home on the first pitch he saw from two-time Cy Young Award winner Blake Snell.

«It still doesn't feel real,» Schneider said about delivering a home run on the sport's biggest stage in October. «It stinks that we weren't able to win the series. I wish it would have ended differently, but it was really cool to feel all the support that I got from back home in South Jersey.»

According to Tom McGurk of the Courier Post, Schneider got the call to the hall on December 7.
The World Series homer was a hot topic when Schneider was inducted into the All Sports Museum and Hall of Fame of Southern New Jersey. He was introduced by his former high school head coach Rob Christ.
«I love being where I'm from,» Schneider said. «All of my friends and family are here and no matter where you're at, it has the small-town feel.»

Schneider talked about all the support he felt from the baseball community in South Jersey, where he still resides in the offseason. He said he doesn't plan to live anywhere else.
«From a small town in South Jersey, playing baseball was all I loved doing and I'm very lucky to be doing that today as a job,» Schneider said.

After coming within a win of a World Series title, the Blue Jays are poised to enter the 2026 season with their best opening day roster in years. Despite a solid season, it remains to be seen what kind of role Schneider will settle into.
It is doubtful that the Jays would be looking at giving the New Jersey native a full-time spot, but it wouldn't be shocking to see him start 60 or so games again, as he did in 2025.
Of course, his role will be dictated by what free agents may be brought into town over the coming months.
