Each spring, Toronto Blue Jays fans get an early look at the organization’s next rising star.
Two years ago, during the inaugural Spring Breakout game, that spotlight belonged to recent Toronto Blue Jays first-round pick Arjun Nimmala.
Last year, it was Trey Yesavage, who made an incredible leap from Spring Breakout all the way to pitching in Game 7 of the World Series in the same season.
Now, the attention turns to JoJo Parker.
Selected eighth overall out of high school in Mississippi in last year’s draft, Parker has already climbed to No. 2 in the Blue Jays’ prospect rankings, trailing only Yesavage.
With Yesavage expected to graduate from prospect status once he returns to the mound, Parker is poised to take over the top spot, potentially becoming the organization’s next homegrown star, following in the footsteps of Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Bo Bichette.
This season, Parker has jumped straight into full-season ball after making an immediate impression in camp.
The 19-year-old’s development will be closely monitored throughout the year.
His potential was evident right away, even in his first professional at-bat during the 2026 Spring Breakout game.
JoJo Parker's Spring Breakout #BlueJays introduction is a 109.1 mph single up the middle. One of the top stories in Toronto's system this year will be how Parker fares in his pro debut.
Following Spring Training, Parker was assigned to Single-A Dunedin. He struggled out of the gate, going 0-for-12, but quickly found his rhythm after recording his first professional hit.

So far this season, Parker is slashing .286/.444/.873 across 28 at-bats—an impressive turnaround considering his slow start.
He has recorded eight hits, seven RBIs, seven walks, and three stolen bases.
It will be fascinating to watch how quickly the young prospect rises through the Blue Jays’ farm system in 2026.
