Toronto Blue Jays officially announce 26-man roster, injury updates on five players ahead of Opening Day

On Wednesday, the Toronto Blue Jays announced the 26-man roster for Friday's showdown against the Athletics, as well as a handful of roster moves to account for injuries and assignments.

That list includes outfielder Anthony Santander (left shoulder labral tear), as well as four pitchers: Jose Berrios (right elbow stress fracture), Shane Bieber (right elbow inflammation), Yimi Garcia (right elbow ulnar nerve and AC joint surgery), and Trey Yesavage (right shoulder impingement).

Right-hander Chase Lee was optioned to triple-A Buffalo, while right-hander Angel Bastardo and infielder Leo Jimenez were designated for assignment.

Thirteen pitchers, two catchers, four infielders, and seven outfielders have made the team.

The Blue Jays will begin their 2026 season Friday night against the Athletics, with first pitch scheduled for 7:07 p.m. ET on Sportsnet.
