Nick Kurtz may have been the unanimous winner, receiving all 30 first place votes for a total of 210 points, Fisher finished in tenth place on the ballot, after receiving a single fourth place vote.
Fisher, who was acquired in 2024 from the
Los Angeles Dodgers in exchange for
Cavan Biggio, quietly had a very strong campaign after making his major league debut in May.
Braydon Fisher finished 10th place in AL Rookie of the Year voting, while receiving one fourth place vote👏🏻
In 52 games, Fisher went 7-0 with a 2.70 ERA while pitching out of the bullpen.
In a year, where the Jays bullpen as volatile at the best of times, Fisher brought a sense of stability and calmness, quietly becoming one of manager John Schneider's most trusted arms.
While Kurtz was expected to be the runaway ROY winner, the fact that Fisher got a vote speaks volumes for both him and the Blue Jays 2025 season.
Only two Blue Jays have won a Rookie of the Year Award. Shortstop
Alfredo Griffin was a co-winner all the way back in 1979, while
Eric Hinske won it outright in 2002.
Yesavage a strong candidate for 2026
While Fisher may have fallen short this year, Trey Yesavage still has rookie eligibility and is a strong candidate to win the award in 2026.
He would become the first Blue Jays pitcher to win the award.
