The Toronto Blue Jays view Kyle Tucker as the 'top option' on the free agent market.
Kyle Tucker is one of the best free agent players remaining on the market, and it sounds like the Blue Jays are a top contender to land him this offseason.
According to MLB.com's Keegan Matheson, the Blue Jays view Kyle Tucker as their top free agent option.
When asked about who the Blue Jays view as their top free agent target this offseason, Matheson immediately indicated that Tucker is priority for the Blue Jays. [Video below]
Tucker. All Tucker. Tucker is the better player. I know there is nostalgia for Bo Bichette, and I get it. I've covered Bichette my whole career, and I respect the hell out of Bo he's a fascinating player, but Kyle Tucker is the better player.
Bichette still an option even if the Blue Jays sign Tucker
While Bichette isn't the generational hitter that Tucker is, the 27-year-old infielder is pretty talented himself, having led the American League in hits twice (2021, 2022) and finishing three shy of matching Bobby Witt Jr. for that mark in 2025.
Toronto would love to have him back, but that depends on how much he will cost.
Bichette has been linked to a couple of the Blue Jays' AL East rivals.
Over Tucker's eight seasons in the majors, the 28-year-old owns an .865 OPS with 147 home runs and 490 RBIs.
The Blue Jays are one meaningful offensive addition away from tying a bow around a grade-A off-season.
