The Toronto Blue Jays didn't give away much ahead of the ALDS on what their roster might look like going up against the New York Yankees.

Blue Jays manager John Schneider and general manager Ross Atkins have been keeping their cards close to their chest lately, not naming a Game 1 starter or delving deep into roster choices. They have until 10:00 AM Saturday ET to submit their ALDS roster.

There are 26 roster spots for the taking ahead of Saturday's opener against the Yankees

Most of the roster spots are essentially locks, but the Blue Jays have some decisions make on their 26-man group.
If the Blue Jays start the series with Gausman, Yesavage and Bieber in some capacity, that leaves one starting spot left for Chris Bassitt and Max Scherzer.
Carrying both Bassitt and Scherzer would likely mean leaving at least one of Nance, Fisher and the left-handed Fluharty off the roster when all three are pitching exceptionally well.
It's a good problem to have, one that will ultimately be resolved by health and matchups.
If Bassitt fails to crack the playoff rotation, he could join the bullpen.
He pitched in relief once already this year and was initially drafted as a reliever.
But what to make of the 25 runs Scherzer's allowed in his last 25 innings across six starts, including rough outings against the Yankees?
Scherzer has 30 career postseason appearances, won two World Series and pitched in hostile October venues.
However, he finished the year with a 5.19 ERA and allowed 25 runs in 25 September innings.
There may not be a roster spot for Scherzer, though, if it's not as a starter.
These are the players who may not make the cut and will probably be on the outside looking in for the ALDS:
- Bo Bichette (injury)
- Max Scherzer
- Ty France
- Joey Loperfido
