Trey Yesavage is expected to be part of the Toronto Blue Jays post-season roster.

General Manager Ross Atkins made the announcement on Wednesday. What is unclear however, is exactly what role the rookie will fill.
Kevin Gausman and Shane Bieber are locks to stat the first two games, with Chris Bassitt likely on track for game three. The fourth spot in the rotation is a toss up between Yesavage and veteran Max Scherzer. While the hasn't pitched well in his last outings, he has a proven track record that might give him the edge.
Ross Atkins, essentially, confirmed Trey Yesavage will be a part of the #BlueJays postseason: «expect him to be a part of us preventing runs»

Their pitching plans are not yet finalized, so we'll see if that's as SP or RP
Moving Yesavage to the bullpen could complicate things for the deserving Eric Lauer, but ultimately the Blue Jays will move forward with their 13 best pitchers.

Yesavage earns spot after strong three game showing

Yesavage has definitely earned his spot, after two strong starts sandwiched around a so-so one, the big Ice Trey has proved that he means business and that he is hear to stay.
Scherzer is a wild card here. While the Blue Jays could go the same route the Dodgers in regards to Clayton Kershaw John Schneider may also feel that any playoff is better with Mad Max as its roster.
If Yesavage does get the ball in game four, it would only help to amplify his storybook debut season.
