It appears that Joe Siddall is set to take over in the broadcast booth following the retirement of legendary Buck Martinez from Toronto Blue Jays coverage.

According to a report from Rob Longley of the Toronto Sun, the longtime Sportsnet analyst and former major-league catcher is expected to step into Buck Martinez's role beginning in the 2026 season.
While Rogers Sportsnet has not yet officially revealed its full Toronto Blue Jays broadcast lineup for 2026, a source confirmed to the Toronto Sun on Friday that Joe Siddall will fill the seat left vacant by Martinez, who announced his retirement earlier this year.
Longley also reported that Hazel Mae will return as the team's sideline reporter. Meanwhile, Ben Shulman and Chris Leroux are expected to remain part of the club's radio coverage.
There's no replacing Buck, of course, but Joe Siddall has earned his spot alongside Dan Shulman in the #Bluejays booth. He'll be terrific.

Siddall was always the heir apparent

Siddall spent last season splitting his time between the studio and live game broadcasts, stepping in during periods when Martinez was on medical leave.
In his expanded role this year, Siddall is expected to work alongside play-by-play announcer Dan Shulman for roughly 125 to 130 games.
Former Blue Jays catcher Caleb Joseph will serve as the secondary analyst, filling in when either Shulman or Siddall are unavailable.
Known for his sharp analysis and candid commentary on Blue Jays coverage, Siddall had long been viewed as a natural successor to Martinez.
The beloved broadcaster stepped away from the booth in February after spending 45 years with the Blue Jays organization in various roles as a player, coach, manager, and commentator.
The 58-year-old Windsor, Ontario native has transitioned smoothly from his studio role into live game broadcasts, a move that can often be challenging for analysts.
Working alongside Shulman, widely regarded as one of baseball's top play-by-play voices, has also helped ease that transition.
Siddall has received strong reviews for his work on Blue Jays Central.
With his expected move to the broadcast booth, the program may need to find another regular analyst to join Joseph and host Jaime Campbell.
Currently in Dunedin during spring training, Siddall called Friday's Blue Jays broadcast alongside Ben Shulman.
However, he declined to comment to the Toronto Sun on the network's plans until they are officially announced ahead of the upcoming season.
