The Toronto Blue Jays have added another legitimate rotation option.

According to the team's transaction log, right-hander Connor Seabold has been signed to a minor league contract.
Although the transaction was just made public today, it has a date of January 21st attached to it.
The Toronto #BlueJays have signed RHP Connor Seabold to a minor league contract.

Per, the transaction log.
While he has not been issued a Spring Training invite, given his previous major league experience, it would not be overly surprising to see the Blue Jays extend one to him in the near future.
Most known for his time as a member of the Boston Red Sox, Seabold has struggled in his limited major league experience.
Since making his debut during the 2021, Seabold is 1-11 with a 7.79 ERA in 40 career games, which include 19 starts. In addition to the Red Sox, he has pitched for the Colorado Rockies, TTampa Bay Rays and Atlanta Braves.
He also spent a season in Japan with the Saitama Seibu Lions.
In the meantime Seabold has been assigned to Triple-A Buffalo, where he will likely open the season.
In signing Seabold, the Blue Jays have fleshed out their depth options with a major league-ready arm who can both start and pitch out the bullpen.
For now, Seabold likely joins a Bisons rotation that includes Winckowski, Chad Dallas CJ Van Eyk, and eventually Ricky Tiedemann and Adam Macko.

Seabold has better numbers as a reliever

Although Seabold came up as a starter and will likely be stretched out in Spring Training, he has fared since transitioning to the bullpen midway through the 2023 season.
He will definitely be an option for the Blue Jays at some point during the 2026 season.
