The Toronto Blue Jays are still looking for ways to improve their lineup which is why many believe they will try to move George Springer since his trade value is finally high again.
Springer has been one of the Blue Jays most consistent hitters this season which no one saw coming after how 2023 and 2024 which is why many thought the Blue Jays would be stuck with his massive contract but it looks like they might have a chance to get out of it by the trade deadline.
Hypothetical trade offer between the Blue Jays and White Sox involving George Springer
Since Springer is only getting older and they have a lot of solid young players, it might be time to look at potentially trading him for a younger player which is why Luis Robert Jr has been mentioned.
But if that doesn't happen, there could be a perfect trade candidate for them in the form of Luis Robert Jr. With George Springer only getting older, and the Blue Jays potentially looking to get off his deal before he leaves in free agency after the 2027 campaign, moving on from Springer and adding Robert might be the thing to do. -Conahan
When examining the White Sox roster, Robert is certainly the only option worth it for the Blue Jays but if they are serious about making a playoff push it would definitely be a risky trade.
Matthew Sookram of Jay's Journal proposed the idea of the Blue Jays trading for Robert, adding that he's the only option the Blue Jays should consider from the Chicago White Sox roster. -Conahan
The tough part is that Robert has had many injuries over the last few years causing him to struggle at the plate and trading Springer for him who is red hot right now might end up costing them quite a few runs which is the opposite of what they need right now.
