Romano's ERA sits at 7.24 in 41 innings pitched, with a 2-4 record and 8 saves to go with 44 strikeouts.
Over his last 7 games, he's been even worse, as he has a 9.53 ERA in 5.2 innings pitched with a 1.06 WHIP.
Romano entered the game against the Reds in the bottom of the seventh inning on Wednesday, and while he wasn't pitching particularly well, it appeared he would get out of the inning when he induced a ground ball with runners on first and second and two outs.
However, Bryce Harper drifted over further towards second base than he should have on the Elly De La Cruz grounder, and by the time he got back to first base and fielded the throw from Bryson Stott, De La Cruz beat it out to load the bases.
The scalding-hot Andujar would promptly unload them with a grand slam.
This is Jordan Romano watching the ball go over the fence. He gave up a grand slam. The Phillies are down 8-0 in Cincinnati after they were down 6-0 last night. Rough night again for Phillies pitchers and hitters.
Romano's future with the Phillies in jeopardy with closer Alvarado returning from suspension and Nola returning from injury
Romano probably should have been out of the inning before the grand slam, but his ERA has spiked to 7.24.
With Aaron Nola and José Alvarado both potentially rejoining the team in the next week, it is fair to wonder what Romano's future with the team is.
He pitched well in May, but outside of that, it's been a disastrous campaign for the former All-Star. Right now, it's hard to trust him even in low-leverage spots.
With the loss, the Phillies drop to 69-51. Meanwhile, the Reds, who are fighting for a Wild Card spot, improve to 64-58.

When the Blue Jays decided to let Romano walk into free agency, many fans were upset because they thought it was a big mistake.
However it looks like Toronto's front office knew something they didn't.
