Blue Jays announce minor league rosters

The Buffalo Bisons started their season on March 28th against Rochester.

The biggest move for the Blue Jays was promoting Arjun Nimmala to High-A Vancouver after spending last year in Low-A Dunedin. While they won't rush him, if does well, he could be in New Hampshire by the end of the year.

Trey Yesavage was the other big news. The Jays first round draft pick has been assigned to Single-A Dunedin after making his professional debut in the Spring Breakout Game against the Twins in March.

The Blue Jays drafted Yesavage out of college, but he didn't latch on to minor leagues right away. Similar to Nimmala, the Blue Jays won't rush him, but there is a chance he could be in Vancouver by the end of the year.

Other notable names in Dunedin include pitcher Khal Stephen, catcher Brock Tibbits, infielders Manuel Beltre and Tucker Toman, and outfielder Jaden Rudd.

Vancouver's roster includes the newly acquired RHP Edinson Batista, pitchers Irv Carter and Juaron Watts-Brown, infielders Cutter Coffey, Sean Keys, and Adrian Pinto, and outfielder Jacob Wetzel.

New Hampshire, which also opens their season on the 4th, has everyone's new favourite catcher Robert Brooks, as well the Peyton 'the Hulk' Williams.

While prospects are prospects until they're not, the Blue Jays have done a good job at re-tooling their farm system. For prospects watchers, it should be a fun season.
