Following Tuesday's against the Twins, the Toronto Blue Jays announced further roster cuts as the march towards opening day continues.
After picking the save in Tuesday's game, reliever Nick Roberston was optioned to Triple-A Buffalo. Additionally pitchers Braydon Fisher and Ryan Jennings and catcher Jacob Sharp were re-assigned to minor league camp.
His lone appearance in Spring Training was in Tuesday's game against the Twins, pitching a scoreless ninth and picking up the save.
Sharp, who was acquired at the deadline last in the deal that sent Yimi Garcia to Seattle, managed to get into three games. He went 0-2 with two walks, one strikeout and a run scored. He also showed great promise with his pitch framing abilities.
Fisher, who came over from the Dodgers in a June trade for Cavan Biggio, impressed this spring. In four games, he had a sparkling 1.93 ERA to go with seven strikeouts in 4.2 innings. He will likely start the year at Triple-A and could be a candidate to receive a call-up at some point during the season.
The Blue Jays now have 51 players remaining at camp.
