The Arizona Fall League Rosters were announced on Wednesday, and the Toronto Blue Jays are sending seven prospects to the desert.
Headling the group is shortstop
Josh Kasevich, the Blue Jays #13 overall prospect.
Kasevich showed flashes of brilliance during Spring Training, but has spent the bulk of the season battling injuries. In 18 games at triple-A, the 24-year-old shortstop has struggled mightily at the plate, hitting .150/.278/.150 with zero extra-base hits and two RBIs, earning a measly 31 wRC+ (100 league average).
However, his fielding still stands out, having made just one error in 100 innings while also seeing time at third base.
Duran, who is ranked 14th overall, was acquired from the Miami Marlins as the player to be named later for Zach Pop and Anthony Bass.
After starting strong in Dunedin, he moved up to High A Vancouver during the season.
Overall this season he is slashing .275/.362/.405 while hitting eight home runs and collecting 47 RBIs.
Both Kasevich and Duran are Rule 5 eligible this off season and will need to be protected. Bastardo meanwhile, was a rule 5 selection by the Blue Jays last year but has yet to make his debut due to injury.
The former Boston Red Sox farmhand hasn't pitched at all this season. However, we should see him on a big league roster in 2026.
Rounding out the group are fellow pitching prospects Chay Yeager, Alex Amalfi, Kai Peterson, and Yondrei Rojas.
