Now that Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has locked in with the Toronto Blue Jays for the rest of his big league career, Ross Atkins speaks on the teams negotiations with Bo Bichette.
The Blue Jays officially announced Guerrero's 14-year, $500-million contract extension on Wednesday afternoon. The deal is one of the largest in baseball and runs from 2026 to 2039.
Now that the deal is official, Guerrero and general manager Ross Atkins will speak to the media in Boston ahead of a game against the Red Sox.

Guerrero's long-term future had been an issue the Blue Jays have been dealing with for a while, but especially since spring training, when he set a Feb. 18 deadline for an extension, only for the sides to quietly continue discussions leading to the deal.
Resolution there is a good thing for Guerrero and the Blue Jays collectively.
