Blue Jays prospect is hitting up an absolute storm

Even the most hardcore fans of the Toronto Blue Jays probably haven't heard the name Yeuni Munoz. That is slowly changing. The outfielder for Single-A Dunedin is off to an obscene start in the minor leagues.
The outfielder homered in Dunedin's 11-7 victory against
the Lakeland Flying Tigers on Friday. What's the big deal about that you might ask? It was third straight game in which Munoz homered.
Through ten games, the 21-year old Dominican is slashing .306/.432/.722 with four home runs, ten RBIS, and a 1.154 OPS. Seven of those RBIS and three of those home runs have come in his last three games.
This is Munoz' first year starting the season in Dunedin after being promoted late last year following parts of three seasons in Rookie Ball.
Munoz was signed as an international free agent by the Blue Jays in 2021 and spent his first year with the club in the Dominican Summer League before making his way to Florida.
Munoz is not a name uttered along side the likes of
Ricky Tiedemann,
Orelvis Martinez, or his teammate
Tucker Toman. But sometimes it's the lower level prospects that can be the biggest surprises and offer the most upside.
In a way, Munoz profiles a lot like a Martinez. A power-first hitter with some speed and good on base skills, but who still could some work on his defence.
Yes, it's early. And yes minor leaguers, much like their major league brethren, are notoriously streaky. Yet, if Munoz keeps this up, there is no reason why he couldn't be in Vancouver by the end of the year.
Double-A New Hampshire is also possibility, though less so.
Keep up the good work Yeuni.
