Canada's Team? For Canadians on the west coast, the choice isn't that simple

Yes, despite the Blue Jays being the only major league baseball team north of the border, many of those who grew up in Vancouver, Victoria, Calgary, and Edmonton, grew up pledging their allegiance to their ALCS opponent: the
Seattle Mariners.
Every year, during the Blue Jays annual trip to T-Mobile Park in Seattle, scores of fans make the drive down from Vancouver in a trip long known as the Canadian invasion.
However, for many Vancouverites who make the trip, they root for the home - and not the away - team.
Watching people from Toronto get mad when they realize the entire country isn't cheering for the Blue Jays and a decent portion of BC people will cheer for the Mariners.
The West coast allegiance to the Mariners is going to make the ALCS between the expansion cousins all that more interesting.
In a way it makes sense. Seattle is a three hour drive from downtown Vancouver, while Toronto is a five hour plane ride away.
Blue Jays vs Mariners in the ALCS
It's Vancouver baseball fan civil war 😱
And it's not only the West coast.
Some baseball fans who grew up in Atlantic Canada and the Maritimes, found themselves rooting for the
Boston Red Sox.
One could argue that Halifax has more culturally in common with New England than with Toronto.
Canada's team now on a national stage
Despite the mixed allegiances of the Pacific, the Blue Jays will now be on a national stage.
Game 4 of the ALDS had an average of 3.8 Million viewers, with over 11 Million Canadians tuning it at some point, a figure that is unheard of for an American Market.
Either way, the nation is going to be in for one heck of a series.
