The London Majors announced Monday the signing of shortstop Kevin Vicuna for the 2026 Canadian Baseball League season.

Vicuna, 27, arrives in London with a decade of professional baseball experience, having spent time in the Toronto Blue Jays, Philadelphia Phillies, and Arizona Diamondbacks organizations.

Vicuna expected to play a key role for the Majors as they prepare for the 2026 season.

The Puerto La Cruz, Venezuela native has played at nearly every level of affiliated baseball, including Triple-A with the Buffalo Bisons in 2021, Double-A with the Reading Fightin Phils in 2022, and Double-A with the Amarillo Sod Poodles in 2023.
Most recently, Vicuna has continued his career internationally, competing with Los Tigres de Quintana Roo in Mexico and the Caribes de Anzoátegui of the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League, further strengthening an already diverse and accomplished résumé.
A right-handed hitter, Vicuna is a natural shortstop who has steadily expanded his defensive versatility, logging innings at every position on the field except catcher.
Across eight minor league seasons, he has posted a .262 career batting average, totaling 82 doubles, 23 triples, 11 home runs, and 91 stolen bases — a testament to his contact skills, speed, and baseball IQ.

Vicuna has also earned recognition as a prospect. In 2018, he was named a Midseason All-Star with the Lansing Lugnuts after batting .266 with 16 doubles, six triples, and two home runs.
That season, he was ranked the No. 23 prospect in the Blue Jays organization by MLB Pipeline, followed by a No. 30 organizational ranking from FanGraphs in 2019.
“Kevin is a plus defender with exceptional range, and he brings a rare combination of bat-to-ball ability and speed to our lineup,” said Majors Field Manager Roop Chanderdat. “While shortstop is his primary position, his ability to contribute both in the infield and outfield gives us tremendous flexibility. He has big-league talent and all the tools of an MLB player. We’re excited to see him come in and perform at an All-Star level.”

With his defensive prowess, athleticism, and extensive professional background, Vicuna is expected to play a key role for the Majors as they prepare for the 2026 season.
