Toronto Blue Jays right-hander Braydon Fisher and left-hander Mason Fluharty emerged as key contributors to the club’s bullpen success during the 2025 season.
The Toronto Blue Jays made pitching a clear priority this past offseason, adding Dylan Cease, Cody Ponce, and Tyler Rogers through free agency, while also acquiring right-hander Chase Lee in a trade with the Detroit Tigers.
Those moves helped reshape a relief corps that, for the first time in several years, enters Spring Training in a position of strength.
A major reason for Toronto’s improved bullpen in 2025 was the emergence of Mason Fluharty and Braydon Fisher, both of whom played critical roles throughout the regular season.
Each pitcher was trusted in high-leverage situations, delivering when the team needed them most.
Fluharty’s defining moment came on August 10 at Dodger Stadium, when he recorded a tense two-out save against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Let’s not forget that Mason Fluharty getting Shohei and Betts out with the bases loaded gave the Blue Jays home advantage in the World Series. The Blue Jays (94-68) finished 1 game ahead of the Dodgers (93-69) in the regular season 😮
Fisher, meanwhile, left his mark earlier in the year on July 5, throwing two scoreless innings in extra innings against the Los Angeles Angels to help secure a 4–3 victory.

While Fisher saw limited action in the postseason, Fluharty was called upon in a pivotal moment during Game 4 of the World Series.
Entering with two runners on base in the bottom of the sixth inning, he escaped the jam and preserved a slim 2–1 lead, setting the stage for Toronto’s eventual 6–1 win.

Fluharty and Fisher poised to repeat 2025 success in 2026
Looking ahead to 2026, both Fluharty and Fisher are expected to once again log meaningful innings out of the bullpen—and likely in even larger roles.
By season’s end, they had already climbed the depth chart, surpassing relievers such as Tim Mayza Little and Louis Varland in terms of high-leverage opportunities and late-game trust.
Of the eleven relievers currently listed on the Blue Jays depth chart, the club would likely feel comfortable bringing back at least nine.
While Little and Rodriguez raised some concerns down the stretch, arms like Hoffman, Garcia, Rogers, Varland, Fluharty, Fisher, and Lee have all earned consideration for regular bullpen roles in 2026.
