With the news that their win over the
Kansas City Royals on Sunday had the Jays first playoff appearance since 2023, there has been a noticeable uptick in the amount of National media coverage that Canada's team has been receiving.
CBC,
CTV,
CP24, CityNews, and many others have all jumped on the Blue Jays bandwagon in the last 48 hours, coalescing around a team that, according to one TSN host, has a legitimate at making - and winning the world series.
While the country watches and waits to see whether they can lock down 1st place in the AL East and subsequently receive a first round, local business are doing their part. Even a Toronto fire truck was seen sporting a Blue Jays flag.
Canadians everywhere embracing #LightsUpLetsGo
From the beginning of the 2025 season, the Blue Jays' motto has been #LightsUpLetsGo. They have clearly lived up to that mentality, with their fun-loving attitude and endless come-from-behind victories.
Now, the rest of the country is embracing that moniker as well, from social media users to reporters outside the Rogers Centre.
It's a full on sea of Blue that will last well into October.
This team, full of panache and personality, has what it takes to go all the way.
