Just days after re-joining the New York Mets, LHP Richard Lovelady has once again been cut loose by the team.

Lovelady was designated for assignment by team on Friday afternoon. In a corresponding move, RHP Kevin Herget was recalled from Triple-A Syracuse. As well, RHP Chris Devenski, who had been previously DFA'd last week, has been outright to Triple-A
This is already the third time this season that Lovelady has been DFA'd by New York. After signing with them in June, he was DFA'd, elected free agency, and re-signed with team. He also appeared for them in August, before once again being bumped off the team.

Lovelady opened the year for the Toronto Blue Jays. He appeared in two games for the Canadian club, allowing four earned runs in just 1.2 innings and as promptly designated for assignment.
Lovelady will head to wire once again although, as he will be ineligible to play for any team in the postseason, he may choose to stick with the Mets, where he would be eligible to return for potential October baseball should an injury arise.

Bounced around, announced his new nickname

Lovelady's DFA comes shortly after he announced that he would like to be referred to as Dicky going forward. Dicky Lovelady.
His numbers with the Mets haven't stood out either, with Lovelady holding a 6.32 ERA across eight games, with nine strikeouts and four walks in ten innings.
For his career, Dicky Lovelady is 5-13 with a 5.35 ERA.
