While the Blue Jays 6-5 record and general lack of offence may not have inspired a ton of confidence early in the season, there has been one exciting thing that has happened to the team 10 days in: a Jomboy breakdown.
Yes, Jimmy "Jomboy" O'Brien, the baseball superfan with superb lip-reading skills who created a media empire, has featured Canada's only baseball team in one first of his breakdowns of the 2025 season.
The video in question concerns a game the Blue Jays played against the Washington Nationals. After Jesse Winker misplaced a ball off the right field wall, Ernie Clement attempted to score but was thrown out at the plate. The Blue Jays immediately called for review. The play was upheld.
Cut to the the Blue Jays dugout and an absolutely livid Max Scherzer His eyes stared into the soul of the camera with disbelief, expletives flying everywhere. He went absolutely ballistic.
No f***ing way. What do have that replay for
Scherzer could not handle what just happened. Neither, it turns out, could Clement.
Are you kidding me bro?
Jomboy, who does well at looking at all angles, appeared to side with the Blue Jays as an overhead camera shot showed Clement touching home plate before the tag was applied.
Jomboy also couldn't help but remark on how so many players had big, beautiful blue eyes, including the one belonging to Scherzer.
Jomboy's breakdowns are both informative and things of beauty. And now the Jays are part of a good one.
