Want to see the Blue Jays play in the ALCS? You might be hard-pressed to find a ticket.
Thousands of tickets came and went in minutes, rendering at least the first two games of the series a sold out show.
While plenty of tickets have already cropped up on re-sell sites, many of them are being offered for upwards of $1000.
WE'RE GOING TO THE AMERICAN LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES
The good news for Blue Jays fans is that either of Toronto's potential opponents - the
Detroit Tigers or
Seattle Mariners - play quite close to the Canadian border, and thus fans who missed out on home game tickets, could potentially snag one for games 3 and four.
Detroit is roughly a five hour drive from Toronto, whereas Vancouver-Seattle takes just over three.
In the past, west coast Blue Jays fans have inundated T-Mobile stadium whenever the Blue Jays visit the Mariners.
Rogers Centre expected to be a packed house for ALCS
Whomever the Blue Jays end up playing in the ALCS - game 5 goes Friday night in Seattle - it is expected to be a packed house at Rogers Centre. Toronto also owns home field advantage, which means that if it goes more than five games, the final two would be held back in Toronto, giving even more Jays an opportunity to see Canada's team go for glory.
Rogers communications previously announced that it would also be giving away 500 tickets for every home game during the team's postseason run.
For fans unable to see the team in person, many bars and establishments across Toronto will be hosting watch parties.
Game 1 of the ALCS will be in Toronto on Sunday.
